I have been a volunteer La Leche League Leader for 17 years with over 8500 direct breastfeeding counseling hours. In 2016 I earned 90 unit-hours of Specific Lactation Education. I teach childbirth education classes privately and at AH Hanford; I taught for 5 years at AH Feather River Midwifery Services (destroyed in the Camp Fire). , Other volunteer positions I have held include Chair for the Visalia Birth Network, secretary for Lactation Advocates of Northern California, and member/webmaster of the Bakersfield Birth Network. I was the Network Professional Liaison on the Board of Directors for La Leche League of Southern California/Nevada. I authored a column for The Journal of Perinatal Education and have been published many other places as well. Other ways I serve my peers is by presenting at conferences, doula trainings, and workshops sharing topics related to babies, breastfeeding, birth, doulas, and tongue tie. Looking for creative affordable doula options, I was integral in forming a unique, community doula circle in Chico, CA. I have had Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative Training and am co-creator of an international tongue-tie education group. I currently am Kern County's Postpartum Support International (PSI) Coordinator. Along with all of this is my passion to mentor and grow new doulas and birth educators!
